West Oxford Bowls Club is an outdoor flat green bowling club with six rinks situated in Botley Park, in the University City of Oxford. The club was formed in 1924, we are affliliated to Bowls England and Bowls Oxfordshire and our club colours are Green and Yellow.
In the Summer, May to September we play friendly games against other clubs in Oxfordshire on Saturday afternoons, then adjourn for afternoon tea/beer/wine and a bit of banter..
On Thursday evenings we compete in the Oxford & District Men's league. Some members also enter County competitions.
The Club has an active social committee that regularly organise musical evenings, parties, race nights, and Christmas & New Year get togethers.
Why not give Bowls a try?
On Mondays at 7pm between May and September we hold our 'Open Evenings'  and have a practice. Coaching is available for newbees.
Currently we have about 40 members. Membership fees are £65/annum for bowlers and £5/annum for Juniors and Social Members. New members are always welcome and can have a go at bowling free of charge. New bowlers that join the club enjoy a reduced membership fee of £30 in their first year too.
Club House Hire
Our Club House is available for Hire. It has a well stocked bar, a working kitchen, a good sound system and can comfortably accomodate around 80 people for functions. We get lots of repeat hires. Hirers say it creates a great party atmosphere.
Get in touch with any member from our 'Contact Us' page. Visitors and spectators are of course welcome at any time. We are noted for being quite informal and a very sociable club with lots of events. There is always something on for everyone to enjoy.
Oxford is renowned the world over, as the home of one of the oldest Universities in Europe. The city lies at the confluence of the Rivers Cherwell and Thames, or "Isis", as it is locally known, giving the opportunity for boating, punting and many pleasant riverside walks.
West Oxford Bowling Club is within easy walking distance of Oxford City centre and colleges. Our location on the western edge of Oxford City is convenient for the Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace.
